Session Twelve: Creatures and Problems

About This Project

A collection of short films featuring several creatures overcoming their problems.

Wildlife Crossing (Czech Republic) | G

The story of a witty and dynamic narrative about love of two snails, which must overcome the pitfalls of the harsh reality that separates them – the road in the middle of the countryside. Does he overcome his handicaps and proofs that true love never gives up?

I Am Not A Mouse (United Kingdom) | G

Every time Lucy is called ‘Mouse’ by her Mum, she turns into a real mouse! What is Lucy going to do?

Sweet Cocoon (France) | G

A caterpillar goes into a place where she feels safe to undergo her metamorphosis. Her cocoon is much too small for her to get in, hopefully two other insects will help her.

Little Monster Ben (Switzerland) | G

Little Monster Ben is not happy today. Tomorrow will be his birthday and he’s afraid of not getting the desired monster hat. So he’s crying and screaming all the time until his mom tells him to stop. Otherwise the birthday monster will come at night and take him away.

Moom (Japan) | G

Have you ever wondered what happens to your forgotten objects? In this story, those objects with a ‘memory’ still attached end up rising from the waters of a magical lake. Scared and lost, memories need help to let go of their objects. Sometimes, it can be as simple as opening a car door or loosening a lid. Other times, memories can have a hard time letting go. Those memories might need more help. This is the story of one of those memories stuck in this world. His name is Moom.

Fred & Anabel (Germany) | G

Fred the feline and Anabel the goose are the best of farmyard friends, spending summer days romping through fields and swinging breezily from the trees. When autumn sends Anabel flying off with her flock, Fred is left longing all winter for his companion — but there’s always spring!

Cows (USA) | G

A simple and stylish animation by Sandra Boynton. The song ‘COWS’ – an all-out Broadway number performed by sincere yet overambitious bovines – was written by Boynton with Michael Ford, and is the bestselling track on the wildly popular platinum-selling Boynton/Ford album PHILADELPHIA CHICKENS. The song is performed by The Seldom Herd (an enthusiastic fictitious group.)

The Smortlybacks (Switzerland and China) | G

On a tabletop mountain a mahout and his strange herd make a surprising and never-ending journey.

Bear and Bird (USA) | G

Bear & Bird is about two best friends, a laid back brown bear who just wants to take it easy and an overly excited cardinal who’s one cup of coffee away from a nervous breakdown. This short features the duo in a standoff over Bear’s hygiene, or lack thereof.
