Mega Mobile Movie Makers : 9 – 12 yrs

For budding storytellers, filmmakers and You Tube wannabes!

In two action-packed days you will explore how to use your mobile device in a creative way. Learn tips and tricks to get the best results using a mobile device and explore different filming styles and techniques, storyboards and storytelling, editing and producing your own movie. The final result will be a 4-shot movie made entirely on your mobile device!

Time: 9.30am – 5pm

Working collaboratively and making use of MOTAT locations participants will develop and shoot a simple live-action story. A fun challenge to make a movie in less than 48 hours!


The final result will be a short movie made on your mobile device, just like this one!

Cost of workshop includes:

  • Morning tea
  • Eligibility for MINA Youth Mentorship Programme*
  • Eligibility for screening at Screenies Children’s Film Festival

Participants need to bring:

  • Mobile device (Android or iOS smartphone/tablet)
  • Charger for mobile device
  • Cables to transfer movies
  • Own lunch, snacks and water bottle.
  • Sunhat, sunscreen, raincoat
  • Signed parental consent form (on registration)

Some participants will be eligible for MINA Youth Mentorship in order to further develop their mobile video production skills and stories as well as increasing their chances to get their mobile film to be selected for the #MINA2017 International Mobile Innovation Screening in Melbourne (AUS). Selected videos will also screen at Screenies Children’s Film Festival . Note: we can give no guarantees for selection for the festivals. The mentorship is at the discretion of MINA.
