Mini Mobile Movie Makers : 6 – 8 yrs

For budding storytellers, filmmakers and You Tube wannabes!

In one action-packed day participants will create stories, storyboard drawings, learn about mobile filming to get great results and work together to make a short film in one-take with a sock puppet character they create. MOTAT provides an inspiring location to get out and about and learn about creating stories with mobile tech.

Participants will create storyboard drawings, learn about mobile filming to get great results and work together to create a short film on their mobile device – in one take with a sock puppet character they create. Attendees will be grouped together and work in a collaborative manner on their movies.

Cost of workshop includes:

  • Eligibility for selection for screening at Screenies Film Festival

Participants need to bring:

  • Mobile device (Android or iOS smartphone/tablet)
  • Charger for mobile device
  •  Cables to transfer movies
  • Own lunch, snacks, water bottle
  • sunhat, sunscreen, raincoat
  • parent/guardian consent form

*Some participants could be eligible for MINA Youth Mentorship in order to further develop their mobile video production skills and stories as well as increasing their chances to get their mobile film to be selected for the #MINA2017 International Mobile Innovation Screening in Melbourne (AUS). Selected videos will also screen at Screenies Children’s Film Festival. Note: we can give no guarantee for selection to the festivals. The mentorship is at the discretion of MINA.
